back on earth this morning. we're taking a look at his nearly year-long mission in space. good morning, i'm ally crutcher. and i'm jerry gallagher. storm track seven meteorologist eileen loan is here now with your storm track seven forecast. brr... it is cold this morning... temps are in the single digits and teens and have even dropped below zero in some places! wind chills are mainly in the single digits either side of zero this morning with mainly light winds... one of the reasons we are so cold.

skies over new snow (in the north). we will have clouds track in this afternoon and snow track in tonight. a stray snow shower can track through this afternoon. highs will stay below normal today but it gets warm this weekend. i'll have more coming up in a few decision 20-16 coverage... new numbers coming in overnight -- as super tuesday voting wraps up. hillary clinton and donald trump are the clear winners. but they each face competition from within their own parties. tracie "we're going to go to florida." with both looking ahead after sweeping super tuesday.

record for super tuesday turnout. two people are injured... and some animals are killed in a barn fire one of the owners is still in shock over how the fire started. kwwl's amanda gilbert caught up with her to hear what happened in new hartford over the weekend. good morning amanda. days after this barn fire... hay continues to smoulder in new hartford..... i spoke with the barn's owner myna lasbrook.... she says this all started early sunday morning.. she noticed smoke coming out of the back of the barn.... she says she immediately ran to get her animals out of the barn near

had hit the barn with their "i was scared... you know i was so fearful of my animals. i didn't want them to get hurt..." and the crazy thing about this traveled... their car drove through a fence... through the pasture... and then into the side of the barn.. lasbrook lost her miniature donkey bingo and some of her barn cats... she says she is thankful though that the two men were not killed in the crash and that no one else we've got you covered live in the newsroom... amanda gilbert... kwwl news. k-w-w-l checked with bulter country sheriff to see how the two men who crashed are doing or if any charges have been filed... we have not heard back from them yet. several buildings in one area community vandalized -- and police are still trying to track

town were at the state wrestling tournament when the vandalism happened in lisbon. a school, a body shop, and a bank were all vandalized... "it's dissapointing anytime you have somebody that in was as part of that vandalism is lisbon who are very excited and proud of their school." the principal says they plan to use this as an opportuity to clean the school up and make it look even better. an iowa man pleads guilty to murdering his girlfriend. shaun hogan agreed to a plea deal of second degree murder in the death of... his girlfriend, crystal gaffney. hogan admitting stabbing gaffney after her body was found in linn county in 2014. he'll be sentenced in may. a grand jury report reveals two roman catholic priests helped cover up sexual abuse. it involved of hundreds of children by more than 50 priests, over a 40-year period. the report points to catholic priests

about the gospel, getting children drunk and even hypnotizing them to then sexually abuse them. the state attorney general's office says some of the "they were thrust into an adult world that is unimaginable. they weren't out playing baseball. they were trying to avoid priests." however, too many years have passed under the law to bring the charges. two people are dead after a car crashed into a restaurant in massachusetts. seven people were sent the hospital, and at least three are in serious or critical condition. firefighters are saying the driver of the car survived. crews are on site trying to figure out how it all happened. in florida, a car smashes into a sushi restaurant. the driver went flying through the front doors. the manager says the driver had just finished eating before he went out to his car. police say the driver simply made a mistake. thankfully, no one was hurt. authorities are needed because

including a rollover in fayette county. sheriff's deputies say both cars were go north when they lost control. one car rolled on its side. no injuries were reported. antother crash -- not necessarily weather-related -- involving a semi and a train in nashua. you can see some of the damage here. the semi driver and the conductor of the train were both taken to the hopsital with minor injuries. and another semi was sliced in half after it was hit by a train - this one in sioux city. the semi was crossing the tracks when a train hit it. no new this morning in the iowa legislature... changing a license plate law could save the state half a million dollars each year. jodi whitworth shows us why car collectors support it... and police officers have their concerns. were kind of entering a new corvette, this is the z06 model but those who do -- buy beautiful cars the front plate is a turn off for car collectors and enthusiasts... most sports cars

frontrunner won seven states on super tuesday -- but did not hold a victory rally. instead -- he invited reporters to his estate in palm beach for a news conference. he won primaries massachusetts, virginia, tennessee, alabama, georgia, arkansas and vermont... i'm a unifier, i know people are going to find that a little bit this finished i'm going to go after one person, that's hillary clinton on the assumption she's allowed to run, which is a big that's going to be an easy race. trump called ted cruz to congratulate him on winning texas. cruz also won oklahoma and alaska. senator marco rubio picked up his first victory of the campaign in minnesota. cruz called on those who have not won any states to get out of "america shouldn't have a president whose words would make you embarrassed if your children

on the democratic side -- hillary clinton celebrated several victories. she won seven states -- virginia, tennessee, alabama, georgia, arkansas, texas and even massachusetts -- a state where senator bernie sanders was expected to have a instead of building walls we're going to break down barriers and build ladders of opportunity and empowerment, so every american can live up to his or her potential. senator sanders thanked his supporters at a rally tonight after he won his home state of vermont. he also picked up wins in oklahoma, minnesota and colorado. nomination. this morning, we're hearing from iowa senator chuck grassley after his special meeting with president obama. they met with other senate leaders to talk about the supreme court vacancy. grassley chairs the powerful senate committee that holds hearings for nominees. the president plans to nominate someone -- but republicans say they won't vote on it. so what came out of yesterday's get together at the white house? position, mcconnell stated the understanding both from the president as well as from our side that it wasn't a meeting where we were trying to change people's minds. democrats say the president is willing to consider a list of names -- if republicans have one. demonstrators settle in outside the supreme court where today -- justices hear arguments on abortion. today, the court will review a

the focus is whether laws that restrict abortions to promote women's health are truly in the interest of public health. back in iowa -- state lawmakers are taking a hard look at a bill laws. more than 90 business leaders sent lawmakers a letter, asking them to debate and pass it. the bill would give the state the authority to create two growing facilities and give medical cannabis oil to people who need it. iowa lawmakers are looking at a bill that could allow 17-year olds to vote in state primary elections this summer. right now you must be at least 18 to vote. the iowa senate wants to change that. this is how it would work... the primary happens on june seventh. the general election is on november 8th. under the bill approved by the senate... if a person turns 18 june. the bill now goes to the house. later today, a murder trial moved to northeast iowa continues. yesterday, emily fazzino's mother testified. emily was found dead in her home in boone four years ago. her husband is on trial for murder. emily's mother told the

a car crashes into a barn.. sending two to the hospital.. and killing a donkey and some barn cats... kwwl's amanda gilbert joins us live in our newsroom.... she caught up with the lady who owns mina tells me she's still in shock over how this fire started... she saw smoke coming out of the back of her barn early sunday morning... she ran to save her animals... and while outside... that's when she saw what had happened... days after a fire... hay lashbrook says she's still in shock over what happened... "it was about 6:30 and my dogs just went crazy in the house, so smoke coming out of my barn." she then ran to the barn to save the animals trapped inside.. "i was scared.. you know i was so fearful of my animals. i didn't want them to get hurt.." that's when she noticed a man walking near the burning structure.... "his head was bleeding. and he said that he and his nephew had hit the barn with a truck..." the driver had driven through the fence... through the pasture...

"i looked and i was just shocked... the back of the barn... there was just so much lasbrook lost a number of her barn cats and her donkey bingo... a group of students finds a way to better connect with a friend... and it even involves more inside the library at mark bills school, class begins much like it does in any other classroom--with the pledge of allegiance. but--they're doing things a little differently here--using american sign language to say the pledge.
